10 Wrestlers That Seriously Took The Piss

6. The New Day

The New Day have mastered the art of mocking themselves and opponents in recent years, rather efficiently living their gimmicks as best mates in competition to pop each other while doing the exact same for adoring crowds. It takes a comfort to crack it, but it's that confidence that all three seem to exude every time they go near a microphone.

Such was the case in January 2020 when the trio came together with Big E's college friend Rashad Dunn to answer fan questions for their podcast.

The very best kind of taking the piss, E's answer brought the f*cking house down before he'd even got a name out, delivered as it was with spectacular self-referential bombast that it reduced Xavier Woods, Kofi Kingston and host Dunn to pained, tear-soaked disasters before he even launched into his hilarious diatribe. In between the breathless laughter of his peers, he spoke of "work rate" "two big men with big chests and big muscles bumming meat" with the sort of vigour that should one day see this speech played in schools.

You want your 30 minute classics? Not E. He wants big meaty men slapping meat, and on the strength of this promo, you should too.
