10 Wrestlers That The Undertaker Couldn't Get Over
8. Heidenreich
Poor Paul Heyman. He went from managing Brock Lesnar to The Big Show to Jon Heidenreich. Hey, at least he got to sing his theme song.
While you gotta give Heidenreich some credit for going “all in” on the character, it just wasn’t a very good character. He was a large dude who recited poetry, swung his right arm when he walked and uh...casually assaulted Michael Cole in his free time. Then there's the fact that he just wasn’t a very good in-ring performer. Some may even be so bold to use the word "bad" to describe his work. He was pretty big and that was about it. However, that has quite often been enough to qualify one to land a feud with Undertaker. When Heidenreich was repackaged on SmackDown (he briefly showed up on Raw for a bit looking for someone named Little Johnny), he immediately set his sights straight for The Dead Man and found himself in a feud he wasn't ready for.
The two clashed at Survivor Series 2004, and Undertaker went over clean in a pretty lousy 15 minute bout. That wasn’t enough to end the feud for some reason. Heidenreich cost Taker the WWE Championship at Armageddon the following month to keep the flame going. At Royal Rumble 2005, Taker beat him once again in a casket match. Even THAT wasn’t supposed to be the end, as a tag match featuring Heidenreich and Snitsky vs. Kane and The Undertaker was planned for WrestleMania! Taker finally put his big boot down and said “no.” Instead we got him facing Orton. Good call Dead Man.
