10 Wrestlers That The Undertaker Couldn't Get Over
5. Kama Mustafa
Being good friends with The Undertaker in real life certainly has its perks. Charles Wright is a WWE Hall of Famer (somehow), but the man doesn’t really have a library of classic matches to his name. That’s not always a fatal flaw to being popular. Ultimate Warrior, Junkyard Dog and Goldberg did just fine with their limited in-ring ability, but Kama Mustafa didn’t have their level of charisma.
The WWF initially tried to get him over as Papa Shango, but his feud with The Ultimate Warrior was one of the most ridiculous ones of the era. His last appearance as the character was at the 93 Royal Rumble, and then he disappeared to wherever he came from. He returned in 1995 as Kama. He had a new look, and was portrayed as more realistic MMA based character. The company once again had high hopes for Wright, and set him off against The Undertaker to get him over. It was all so hopeless.
Despite his makeover, Kama’s moveset didn’t resemble an MMA fighter in the least. He was the same slow, plodding act that he always was. Couldn't he at least have learned a Kimura Lock or something? At WrestleMania 11, he stole Taker’s magical urn and had it melted into a necklace. It was a pretty aggressive form of property destruction, and it kicked off their feud.
At SummerSlam 95 the two finally had their big match. While that show is better remembered for being awful because of the Mabel and Diesel main event, Kama and Taker stunk up the joint first with their 16 minute casket match (luckily Shawn Michaels and Razor Ramon delivered a classic in between, or the fans may have rioted).
After that match, Kama’s days of feuding with big names was over. Meanwhile, Taker went on to face an even worse opponent...
