10 Wrestlers The Undertaker Should Have Faced At WrestleMania

5. WrestleMania IX - Lex Luger

WrestleMania IV is one of the worst WrestleManias of all time. Nobody can dispute this. Oh, you liked the whole Greek theme and you thought the sight of Bobby Henan wearing a toga and riding a camel backwards was funny? Nope, you're wrong. Sorry but, as disappointing or flat-out bad as some 'Manias have been in the past, this one tops it. Worst of all was 'Taker's match with the utterly hopeless Giant Gonzalez. So bad was this seven minute match that it made the Undertaker/Khali matches from 2006 look like Flair versus Steamboat in comparison. Undertaker has had to face some pretty poor opposition at WrestleMania (and other events) over the years but Gonzalez was undoubtedly the worst. Lex Luger wrestled Mr. Perfect on the show. Luger was so much more-suited to the arrogant 'Narcissist' gimmick than he was as a Hulk Hogan-esque American hero. Their match was a massive disappointment as the two never seemed to click. Could Luger have had a better match with The Undertaker? It certainly would have been a decent story and Luger was a more-than-believable challenger. Speaking about wrestling The Undertaker in a January 2014 interview, Luger said:
f a guy like Undertaker , I wouldn't have had any problem putting him over, especially at WrestleMania. I understand ... that some guys might be frustrated but I don't understand what they would be frustrated about. It's one match in a career. If you have confidence in yourself, your career, and the big picture as far as where you're going, I don't think it hurts at all to put Undertaker over at WrestleMania.
Of course Luger would have done the job. As egotistical as Luger was, even he would have known better than to question the result of that one.
