10 Wrestlers Too Good To Be Ruined By WWE's Bad Booking
4. Bayley
First of the trio of women who inspired this list, Bayley had to completely transform herself to revive a career WWE's writers had left dead in the water.
We don't think we've ever seen a wrestler undergo as profound a character assassination as Bayley did in her feud against Alexa Bliss. Bayley, formerly the most over champion in WWE during her NXT run, was made to look like a naive no-hoper against Alexa. Losing time and time again, Bayley's reputation was left in tatters and caused fan interest in her to nosedive. (If you can, compare Bayley's debut pop to the one she gets on her entrance in the 2018 Royal Rumble. The difference is heartbreaking).
After WWE effectively destroyed her chances of success as a good guy, Bayley deserves a lot of credit for embracing the dark side to save her flagging career. Going from heel to face is not an easy transition to make but Bayley has pulled it off with aplomb, the former Huggable One really coming into her own during her record-breaking stretch as WWE SmackDown Women's Champion. Smug, manipulative, far too into herself and lacking in any redeeming qualities as a human being, Bayley ticks all the right boxes as a heel.
Bayley's current "Role Model" nickname may be ironic in kayfabe, but the talent and determination she has displayed in saving her dying career make her a genuine role model for struggling wrestlers everywhere.
