10 Wrestlers That Tragically Turned To Drugs

8. Test

Andrew 'Test' Martin was truly a WWE Superstar that never realised his potential. Standing over six feet six and weighing 285 pounds, Martin's physique was befitting of a World Heavyweight Champion. Sadly, it was never to be. Martin held six titles over two stints in WWE between 1998 and 2007. He was a one-time WWE Intercontinental Champion, one-time WWE European Champion, one-time WWE Tag Team Champion and one-time WCW Tag Champion. Test was involved in a number of big story lines during his time in the company. He was engaged to Stephanie McMahon before Triple H got involved, tagged with Prince Albert in T&A and became embroiled in a tug of war over Stacy Keibler with Scott Steiner. After his second stint with WWE in the ECW rebirth came to an end, Martin appeared in TNA before announcing his retirement less than a year later. He was found dead in his Tampa, Florida home on March 13, 2009, four days before his 34th birthday. Police were called in after a concerned neighbour reported Martin appearing to remain motionless for several hours. The body was retrieved after the authorities scaled the apartment balcony and believe he died the previous day. Test's death was ruled an accidental overdose of oxycodone. However, it was later determined by forensic pathologist Dr. Bennet Omalu that Martin had a severe chronic traumatic brain injury associated with boxing, an Alzheimer's-like form of brain damage.
