2. The Great Khali

Could anyone really get The Great Khali over? In the summer of 2008, Triple H was the last one to try.

After feuds with The Undertaker and John Cena dried up, Khali was simply not over as a main event heel. If Hunter was able to do it, he could have done the unthinkable, and perhaps it would have been one of his greatest achievements. But, much like The Dead Man and Cena, he was unable to do so.

The two were set off to battle at SummerSlam that year after Khali won a battle to earn the right. The main event for that show was Undertaker vs. Edge, with John Cena vs. Batista slotted with the second most important match. Hunter and Khali went on before them. What proceeded was an incredibly lackluster match, one not deserving for such a high slot on a big pay-per-view, especially with the WWE Title on the line.

The following month at Unforgiven, Triple H defended his title in a triple threat match, and Khali didn’t even make it on the show. They met up a couple of months later in their own triple threat match (involving Kozlov as well). Khali took a Pedigree, and the pinfall, and Hunter marched on.

The end of the feud was the last big push of Khali's career as he soon morphed into a comedy act, which he stayed in for the rest of his time in WWE.

As Rust Cohle from True Detective said "Life's barely long enough to get good at one thing. So be careful what you're good at." Sadly, I can't solve a murder like Rust...or change a tire, or even tie a tie. But I do know all the lyrics to Hulk Hogan's "Real American" theme song and can easily name every Natural Born Thriller from the dying days of WCW. I was once ranked 21st in the United States in Tetris...on the Playstation 3 version...for about a week. Follow along @AndrewSoucek and check out my podcast at wrestlingwithfriends.com
