10 Wrestlers Triple H Couldn't Get Over

It seems that everyone on the WWE roster has tried to get Roman Reigns over, but few have tried harder than Triple H.

The two battled it out in an Evolution vs. Shield feud after WrestleMania XXX, with Hunter putting the young team over on multiple occasions. But it was at WrestleMania 32 where it was do or die time for the young star. The match died right out of the gate.

Undertaker vs. Shane McMahon had gone on earlier in the night, and The Rock made his triumphant return in the prior segment. The fans were drained. Hunter and Roman were going to have to pull out something big to make it work. What they produced was a nearly 30 minute match that ranks among the least exciting in the history of Mania main events.

Roman beating up the evil COO, a guy who made life a living hell for the entire roster for the past few years wasn’t enough to get the crowd to cheer him. That's a pretty damning sign.

You have to give Hunter some credit for taking the clean loss, but at that stage in his career, he just couldn’t create a compelling match that could get people excited. And Roman just didn't have the crowd support going into the bout that was going to change anyone's mind.

Currently, they are likely headed for another showdown in the near future. Will this round go any better? No. Probably not. But might as well try...right?

As Rust Cohle from True Detective said "Life's barely long enough to get good at one thing. So be careful what you're good at." Sadly, I can't solve a murder like Rust...or change a tire, or even tie a tie. But I do know all the lyrics to Hulk Hogan's "Real American" theme song and can easily name every Natural Born Thriller from the dying days of WCW. I was once ranked 21st in the United States in Tetris...on the Playstation 3 version...for about a week. Follow along @AndrewSoucek and check out my podcast at wrestlingwithfriends.com
