10 Wrestlers Triple H Couldn't Get Over

10. Scott Steiner

In early 2003, Triple H was given the unenviable task of attempting to get Scott Steiner over...as a babyface. Now when Big Poppa Pump first came into the company, fans treated him like a star, but WWE strangely fought the current. They decided not to cast him as a heel, which is what shot him to the main event in WCW.

Upon signing with the Raw brand, The Big Bad Booty Daddy set his sights on Triple H. The two argued over their ridiculous physiques, they had an arm wrestling contest and Hunter got stripped down to some uncomfortably tiny undies. Now that's a feud! Well, things weren’t going so hot, but it was ten times worse once they got in the ring.

Steiner had major foot problems at that point in his career; basically he was unable to lift one of his feet in the air. That was an impossible problem to work around. Triple H sure tried, though, and had to do all the work in their matches. It was abysmal. At Royal Rumble and No Way Out 2003, they put on two of the worst matches of that year, which basically consisted of Steiner doing nothing but belly-to-belly suplexes.

After that feud ran its course, Steiner was sent to the mid-card and never recovered. The two tried to make something happen, but there was just too much working against them. Perhaps in 2000 with both guys healthy, and with the heel/face roles reversed, they could have had a fantastic feud, but in 2003, it was an all-out dud.

As Rust Cohle from True Detective said "Life's barely long enough to get good at one thing. So be careful what you're good at." Sadly, I can't solve a murder like Rust...or change a tire, or even tie a tie. But I do know all the lyrics to Hulk Hogan's "Real American" theme song and can easily name every Natural Born Thriller from the dying days of WCW. I was once ranked 21st in the United States in Tetris...on the Playstation 3 version...for about a week. Follow along @AndrewSoucek and check out my podcast at wrestlingwithfriends.com
