10 Wrestlers Triple H Couldn't Get Over

8. Carlito

Carlito Caribbean Cool came into WWE with a lot of potential. He was given slick, Razor Ramon like vignettes to precede his arrival, and in his very first match he captured the US Title.

Along the way, though, his career started to stutter. Perhaps a feud with Triple H could have got things back on track. Or perhaps, it would sink it to new lows and eventually lead to his departure.

In 2007, Carlito and Hunter engaged in a feud and soon battled it out at Unforgiven. Lucky for Carlito he could NOT be DQ’d. He could have done anything he wanted and not lost. Bringing 40 of his closest family and friends to the ring to help fight alongside him would have been perfectly legal. It was an easy victory...except Hunter won. He didn’t just win, he absolutely destroyed Carlito. For some reason, the two had a rematch on Raw a few weeks later...which seemed really, really unnecessary. Not surprisingly Hunter won that one too.

Soon after, Carlito asked for his release from the company as he was unhappy with his push (can you blame him?). Vince McMahon convinced him to stay, which then led to a few unspectacular years for the once promising superstar, before he released anyway. His potential renaissance against Hunter was set-up merely to be squashed into oblivion. It did not get him over.

And that? That wasn’t cool.

As Rust Cohle from True Detective said "Life's barely long enough to get good at one thing. So be careful what you're good at." Sadly, I can't solve a murder like Rust...or change a tire, or even tie a tie. But I do know all the lyrics to Hulk Hogan's "Real American" theme song and can easily name every Natural Born Thriller from the dying days of WCW. I was once ranked 21st in the United States in Tetris...on the Playstation 3 version...for about a week. Follow along @AndrewSoucek and check out my podcast at wrestlingwithfriends.com
