10 Wrestlers Vince McMahon Couldn't Get Over

2. Austin Theory

Vince McMahon slap
WWE

An Austin Theory that didn't even appear to be about Austin Theory until it hatched out of a golden eyg at 2021's supremely stupid Survivor Series, the push for the youngster has folded an increasingly odd Vince McMahon back into Monday Night Raw as something resembling the old coot rocking on his porch shooting cans with a cap gun.

Once a week, he b*llocks Theory for something or other, gaslights him into get up to mischief at ringside and speaks with a compelling profundity about his lonliness, bitterness and a sense that he doesn't belong in the world now. If he ever even did.

It's the strangest and most unlikely character twist from a man and character that appeared to age 100 years over the space of five, and Theory couldn't look more like a dolt going along with it. He might be allowed to slap him about a bit by the end, but it's not like that's a magic wand fix for everybody...
