10 Wrestlers Vince McMahon Couldn't Get Over

3. The Anonymous Raw General Manager

In defence of an inanimate object that made real a classic Simpsons' carbon rod gag, there were other feeble authority figures that would also qualify for this.

At various points, Vince McMahon went to bat for Vickie Guerrero, Brad Maddox, John Laurinaitis and anybody else voted in by boards of directors he had some kayfabe say over, all despite the fact that they were objectively useless at the role. The role, if we're sticking to the story here, being to put on such an entertaining wrestling show that the company arrests a 20 year ratings slide. None of them did, and it didn't help that a lot of the time the promos and builds sucked too.

The Anonymous Raw General Manager (before it was revealed to be Hornswoggle all along, and honestly WWE could book The Big Bang and it'd probably end up being him and Kane playing marbles) needed more than Michael Cole's nasal tones to get it over - it needed McMahon to get it off the ground.

He failed at the first hurdle, thus it did too. Particularly rich coming from the cheeky b*stard that made Eric Bischoff and Renee Paquette sell brooms and biros respectively. There's porn on laptops, pal, and you could take some tips on scripting and direction there too.
