10 Wrestlers Who Went Back To WWE After Failing To Become An Actor

5. Chris Jericho

Chris Jericho Albino FarmProminent works: Albino Farm, Opening Night (stage play) Jericho is an interesting addition to this list in that he's the only entry on the list not only to have tried and failed to become an actor but that has parodied his attempts with his own web-show, €œBut I'm Chris Jericho!€, in which he acts as a caricature of himself... trying to become an actor. When Jericho left WWE in 2005, citing burn-out, he divided his time away from the ring between his metal band Fozzy and varied attempts to break into mainstream acting. During this time, he filmed Albino Farm, a dreadful cheap horror movie, not unlike Daniel Bryan's recent feud with Kane in terms of cheap tricks and gimmicks. It was eventually released in 2009 and I can say it does Jericho no favours. Jericho- one of the most charismatic performers in pro-wrestling history- has since had no shortage of mainstream exposure away from WWE. His performances on reality and gaming TV shows, such as Dancing With The Stars and his own show, Robot Combat League on SyFy, in addition to two New York Times best selling autobiographies, with a third on the way, all that aside from the continued work with Fozzy and his stints in WWE. He recently started his own podcast, which has topped iTunes download charts. Jericho remains multifaceted, active and relevant across the media away from WWE. It just so happens that acting wasn't his most successful venture.
