10 Wrestlers We're Most Thankful For In 2018

3. Chris Jericho

NJPW

Outside of The Elite, no wrestler is currently doing more to showcase the power of betting on yourself in professional wrestling than Chris Jericho at the moment, who continues to generate tremendous buzz as a freelancer, having once again reinvented himself for a new generation of fans.

Tubby, drunk, face-painted Jericho is one of his best ever versions. He's an absolute blast, and his upcoming Tokyo Dome showdown with the mighty Tetsuya Naito is going to be bags of fun, just like their previous match. 'Y2J' will be putting his IWGP Intercontinental Title on the line for only the second time. Victory seems unlikely, but let's hope he keeps moonlighting in Japan regardless.

The coolest thing about Chris Jericho's career in 2018 is that he could conceivably turn up anywhere willing to pay his fee. The 48-year-old just held his own cruise, he's in and out of New Japan, and he even nabbed a headline-grabbing appearance at ALL IN. It's been a long time since he's been this exciting, and having established that he really doesn't need WWE anymore, Jericho is hopefully setting an awesome example for others to follow.
