10 Wrestlers Who Are In The Wrong Promotion

1. Mustafa Ali

Obviously.

How does this end? Does Mustafa Ali suffer the same fate as Neville (PAC) and Luke Harper (Brodie Lee) before him, condemned to sit at home and twiddle his thumbs until enough time has passed for Vince McMahon to get over himself? Or does Ali somehow find a way out of his WWE contract in the not too distant future, allowing him to get back into the ring? Here’s hoping it is the latter. It is utterly ridiculous that, at a time when WWE releases come more often than not, the company still deems it okay to keep this talented guy at home. An independent contractor, by the way.

Few wrestlers have made lemonade from lemons quite like Mustafa Ali. It is easy to forget that he actually came to WWE as a last-minute substitute in the 2016 Cruiserweight Classic, when Brazilian wrestler Zumbi wasn’t able to compete. Ali lost to Lince Dorado in the first round, but soon became a mainstay in the cruiserweight division, eventually moving to SmackDown and becoming one of the best babyfaces on the show. A WWE Championship match at WrestleMania was even in the works.

Mustafa Ali deserves to be free of WWE purgatory. It doesn’t matter where he goes, because the guy will be an absolute star wherever he lands.

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
