10 Wrestlers Who Are In The Wrong Role

1. Johnny Gargano As The Cocky Face

In Johnny Gargano, Triple H should know better than just about anyone else on the planet that he possesses a supremely gifted worker who can operate as perhaps the most naturally sympathetic babyface his entire roster has to offer; outside of the evergreen Rey Mysterio, admittedly.

Throughout his run on Papa H's black and gold show, Johnny Wrestling showcased relentless reserves of underdog fire and a genuine connection with the audience that just about every booker on the planet would kill to have at their disposal.

So, what did The Game opt to do the second his one-time NXT pride and joy finally agreed to return home and actually sign on the main roster dotted line? Cart him out as a D-Generation X-Lite, smarmy hero, focused more on painfully taking the piss out of his rivals than trying to achieve his own dreams in-between the ropes.

Because of course he did.

The early signs were so promising, too. The former NXT Champion let his childhood "impossible" ambitions to become a champion on WWE's main stage and wrestle at WrestleMania be known on night one, and reminded those watching on what could be achieved when you bet on yourself. All to the sound of unfiltered and deafening support.

Fast forward a few months and it's starting to feel more like Johnny lost a bet to someone backstage and is being forced to deal out soul-crushing one-liners and Miz/Lumis storyline developments as a punishment. What a waste.
