This moment of heroism began an unfortunate downward spiral for Perry Satullo, but it still doesn't make him any less deserving of recognition.

Perry was wrestling on the independent circuit following his release from WWE in 2002. In April 2004, while travelling in Atlanta, he and his girlfriend came across a woman being sexually assaulted by a pair of men, and Saturn acted immediately in fighting them off. One of these men was holding a gun and shot Saturn twice in the shoulder. He barely felt it, as he described the sensation as like being punched initially, and was able to save the woman from further harm.

As the adrenaline wore off, the pain intensified and Saturn resorted to methamphetamine to cope with it; a substance to which he later became addicted. This resulted in Saturn retiring from wrestling, becoming homeless, and all but disappearing for years on end from the public eye and even his own family.

Perry would reveal himself again in 2010, showing that he'd beaten his addiction and briefly returned to the ring a year later. He did issue a statement saying he was due to be kicked out of his home in 2017, but his fans rallied round and saved him from eviction with a $40,000 fundraiser.
