10 Wrestlers Who Are Wasted In WWE
4. Shinsuke Nakamura
This writer has never really viewed Shinsuke Nakamura as a good fit for WWE. When others were fawning over the 'King Of Strong Style' and his work in NXT, yours truly cast a worried glance towards the future. Shin was doomed as soon as he arrived on SmackDown in 2018.
He couldn't rely solely on in-ring skills there.
Ever since then, Nakamura has turned heel (a role he's visibly more comfortable in) and enlisted Sami Zayn as a manager who cuts promos for him. That was a shrewd decision, but it can't alter the fact that Shinsuke has never really related to WWE's casual audience. To them, he's an overhyped workhorse who flopped in the main event scene.
In his native Japan, things would be very different. The 39 year old former New Japan great would tear the house down if he returned home and managed to motivate himself. That's proving a challenge in WWE's system; here, Naka looks like he's going through the motions constantly.
