The wrestling industry is no stranger to seeing UFC stars step out of the Octagon and into the ring. WWE has found massive success with similar stars, such as Ronda Rousey, Matt Riddle and Ken Shamrock.

But while those performers fit into the company well, former UFC fighter Tom Lawlor certainly wouldn't.

If you want to talk about a wrestler who perfectly suits the phrase rough around the edges, then you've got it in "Filthy" Tom Lawlor. He absolutely gives off a legitimate fighter vibe, and that's not just because of his mixed martial arts background. There's a realism and grittiness to his in-ring work, presentation and promos that make him scrappy and unpredictable.

Lawlor's look is highly outside of WWE's norm, as his mutton chops and cauliflower ears are all far removed from the corporate mould that the company adheres to. Still, he works so well as a fighter who is a believable tough guy and dominant opponent.

Having been crowned the first-ever NJPW Strong Openweight Championship in April of this year, it's safe to say that he's finding success in Japan, where not being a conventional superstar doesn't pump the breaks on your career.
