Entering All Elite territory as the eye-catching surprise entrant in Double of Nothing 2020's Casino Ladder Match - and winning the whole damn thing, at that - former Impact World Champion Brian Cage looked set to become the wrecking machine monster that AEW had been looking for.

And while an unsuccessful attempt to dethrone AEW World Champion Jon Moxley didn't immediately catapult him to superstardom, his crowing as the first-ever All Elite FTW Champion and positioning as Team Taz's focal point suggested big things for Swolverine.

As the months would trickle by, however, it became more and more evident that Tony Khan had next to no plans of pushing Cage past the level of a credible challenger to the various "real" All Elite Champions on his roster.

In the end, post-numerous unsuccessful title challenges, and a battering at the hands of an Icon, an FTW-title losing effort against Ricky Starks set the stage for a fatal blow to his All Elite standing.

Out-thought, out-muscled, and out-matched by Team Taz in the Rampage rematch for said strap, Cage has still yet to resurface on All Elite programming and seemingly has had to settle for a spot on Khan's new Ring of Honor side project going forward.
