10 Wrestlers Who Became Unexpectedly Popular Babyfaces In 2020
4. Mandy Rose
Mandy Rose is great. She has a fantastic running knee strike, a great finisher and understands how to get fans to connect to an angle. Her babyface turn with Otis was some of the best narrative work leading into WrestleMania 36, and her dedication to characterisation led to her feud with Sonya Deville being one of the most engaging rivalries of the Empty Arena Era.
She's stronger in the ring, her Otis segments have allowed her to show off her personality, her promos against Sonya Deville leading into SummerSlam were some of the best of the year and fans are widely behind her. It feels like a mistake that she's been moved to Raw with Dana Brooke instead of being pushed as a singles challenger for Asuka or Bayley, but Rose is talented and over enough to make things work whenever she goes.
Rose has subverted expectations time and time again since making her debut on the main roster, surprising audiences by delivering as a heel before naturally becoming babyface and delivering with every opportunity she’s been given thus far. It’s exciting to see where she goes from here.
