10 Wrestlers Who Became Unexpectedly Popular Babyfaces In 2020

5. Dominik Mysterio

Dominik Mysterio started to get over with the WWE fans when he was thrown around like a ragdoll last year by Brock Lesnar for the sake of The Beast Incarnate's feud with his father Rey. He bumped like a madman by the gigantic Lesnar, and it was only a matter of time before he stepped into the ring to carry on Rey Mysterio’s legacy.

But no one could have expected how good he would be inside the ring, and how over as a babyface he was against the despicable Monday Night Messiah Seth Rollins. His wonderful selling and sympathetic demeanour at SummerSlam 2020 got all of us at home invested in classic WWE melodrama for the first time in what felt like forever.

While he obviously still has ways to go before being one of the best in the locker room, Dominik has consistently impressed in every outing he’s had so far, and genuinely feels like a hero in the making. Instead of fans dragging him for nepotistic reasons, he’s been widely acclaimed and has amazing momentum heading into 2021. He’s only going to get even better as time passes.
