10 Wrestlers Who Committed Disturbing Crimes

9. Steve Austin - Domestic Abuse

Steve Austin is the most popular star in the history of professional wrestling and a self-proclaimed national treasure.

However, the real life Steve Williams has a less than stellar reputation - especially amongst women.

In 2004, his then girlfriend Tess Broussard claimed that he had physically abused her a number of times, even forcing her to go to a shelter out of fear.

Broussard also stated that Austin was no fan of black people, going as far as to call her an 'N-Lover' when she watched BET.

Ahmed Johnson was pretty sure Austin was a racist too, pointing the finger at him when he found 'congratulations n****r' keyed into his rental car after winning the Intercontinental title.

Austin's first wife Jeannie wrote in her book of her then husband associating with racists, and his second with Debra revealed he would frequently use the n-word and turn off any television show where there were black actors.

Allegations aside however, Austin's domestic violence against Debra has legal substantiation.

After what she claimed was the third time Austin had abused her, Debra called the police and reported that Austin had knocked her down, mounted her and fiercely beat her.

Austin pleaded no-contest to the charges and was given a miserly year of probation and community service.
