10 Wrestlers Who Competed In Matches In Their 70s And Beyond

8. Terry Funk (73)

Well, this isn't a shocker is it.

Whether it was wrestling for the NWA Worlds Championship, wielding a chainsaw in the WWF, or being legitimately blown up in Japan, Terry Funk has done it all in professional wrestling and has the scars and hospital bills to prove it.

It's a running joke that Terry has had more retirement matches than Ric Flair's had paternity tests.

His Wikipedia page lists at least six different "retirements", but it does also feature a quote from Funk on SIRIUS radio where he stated, "I will never truly retire".

This statement appears to be false, as Funk hasn't stepped into the ring since 2017.

The match in question was for Big Time Wrestling in North Carolina. It was a six-man tag which partnered Funk with fellow perennial non-retirees, The Rock 'N' Roll Express. Their opponents were ECW alum, Doug Gilbert, the former Grand Master Sexay, Brian Christopher, and Jerry "The King of Defying Medical Science" Lawler.

Funk was 73 years and 85 days old in this match (which they won by the way), but don't put it past The Funker to bump that number even higher some time soon.
