10 Wrestlers Who Could Be The Surprise Entrant In AEW Face Of The Revolution Ladder Match
1. Rob Van Dam
Rob Van Dam, like Davey Boy Smith Jr., is almost certainly WWE bound, but just listen; the Face Of The Revolution Ladder Match is precisely that. A Ladder Match. Who helped revolutionise the match type? Rob Van Dam.
The name of the match almost feels like an Easter egg in itself.
RVD could very easily head back to WWE and make a hefty payday by doing bugger all, and it would make perfect sense. He turned fifty-years-old this past December, his body isn't what it used to be, and he'll be featured on the fantastic WWE Icons documentary series.
Or, he could come to AEW, live out what's left of his wrestling career, and be sent off with one last hurrah into eventual retirement.
You have to remember that All Elite Wrestling's handling of legends is the undisputed greatest. They don't become the focus of the show, but rather an attraction.
Sting isn't main eventing pay-per-views in World Championship matches because he doesn't need to. What he is doing, though, is bringing an older generation of fans into AEW. They'll see Sting and remember how great he was back in the day. When they see he can still go, they'll want to tune in.
The same rule applies to Rob Van Dam with ECW fans. He's still, somehow, 'The Whole F'N Show'.
