10 Wrestlers Who Could No Longer Perform Their Finisher

2. Tyler Reks

Not everyone has nice things to say about 16-time World Champion John Cena, and the wrestler formerly known as Tyler Reks is one of them. Reks, now Gabbi Tuft, competed for WWE until around 2012 but never really found the success many thought would follow. This might just explain why.

While competing in the ring, Tuft used a move known as the Burning Hammer, which was given to her by then WWE producer Arn Anderson. For those unfamiliar with the high impact finisher, the Burning Hammer was basically an inverted Attitude Adjustment and had been part of her arsenal for almost a year.

One night, after admittedly botching the move against Primo at an untelevised live event, Tuft found herself humiliated in front of the rest of the roster when Cena pulled her to one side to criticise the use of the move, seemingly thinking that Gabbi had deliberately altered it to make it a clone of Cena’s finisher.

“He started yelling at me,” Tuft told Wrestling, Inc in 2014. “He told me, ‘Find another finisher or you’re fired.’” Despite having the blessing of Vince McMahon, Tuft still tried to apologise to John, but the Face that Runs the Place was unwilling to let the incident go. The Burning Hammer was quietly dropped shortly after.
