10 Wrestlers Who Couldn't Hide Their Anger At A REAL Insult

The belt swap angle was such a fundamentally stupid thing.

A wrestler handing over a title because the strap is the wrong colour for their new show when they aren't even exclusive to that show because the draft is a total farce: brutal!

Mercifully, Triple H has resolved the mess. It's hard to remember who the WWE and World Women's champions are, and the belts are still as ugly as a Tyrus match, but still: better than a swap!

Already a demeaning experience, the mood worsened when one such angle involved former friends Becky Lynch and Charlotte Flair in October 2021. This was powder keg stuff.

Becky Lynch told Steve Austin a year later that what was meant to happen was thus: Becky was to grab the Raw title from Charlotte unbeknownst to Charlotte, in a Becky 2 Belts callback, before tossing the SmackDown title back. Sonya Deville, a GM of sorts, was meant to pick it up. Charlotte was then meant to challenge Becky to a fight, which Becky would back away from.

"Everybody was meant to get their moment."

Charlotte - and this was hilarious if you're into a schadenfreude - could not do this. All she had to do was wait literally seconds before "winning" the fake wrestling segment, and she couldn't even do that. Becky called it in advance too. She knew Charlotte was going to insult her by dropping the title before she could grab it.

Becky was...not best pleased by this, and look pissed to high heaven. She told Ariel Helwani that, because she knew what to expect, she was "able to hold it together" before "verbally losing it" backstage.

She didn't explode, but she couldn't hide her anger, either. A smile is often more telling than a scowl, and she dripped with sarcasm - anger's close relative - at the disrespect.
