10 Wrestlers Who Couldn't Hide Their Anger At A REAL Insult

John Cena's character was so strange by the end of his full-time run.

Ostensibly a child-friendly superhero who never gave up, the Marine actually became a drill instructor as merciless as Gunnery Sergeant Hartman from 'Full Metal Jacket' - ironic, since it was Cena who wrestled like old people f*ck half the time. The state of that springboard stunner, Jesus.

Cena was horrible to anybody who dared step in the ring with him. He wasn't so much wrestling people as berating their inability to get over in the WWE system. Really, his onscreen character wasn't too dissimilar to Mr. McMahon's.

In late 2017, he worked a programme with Roman Reigns meta-premised on the idea that Cena wasn't about to give up his spot as face of the company so easily. Cena did his usual routine, saying that Roman was a manufactured project or whatever. Roman was flustered when Cena went off-script with some nice words about Kurt Angle. Even if this was a sophisticated work designed to put over the idea that Roman might not be ready, life imitated art. Roman is a very good wrestling actor, but he's not that good.

Cena, infamously, said: "It's called a promo, Big Dog. You're gonna have to learn how to cut one."

It's highly likely that you have thought of a witty comeback to an argument in retrospect and have relived the moment in your head over and over again. This has happened to everybody, and it happened to Roman that night.

So angry that he could not think straight, he said as a retort - after several painfully awkward seconds - "They boo you because they see right through you".
