6. The Riott Squad

The Royal Rumble showed that The Riott Squad are a whole far greater than the sum of their parts.

Liv Morgan lasted just eight seconds before Natalya threw her out. Sarah Logan entered a while later and fared better, though her five-minute run yielded no eliminations. Both would return at number 21, when group leader Ruby Riott marched down the aisle, and thus commenced their Royal Rumble takeover, as the Raw trio worked together to isolate and destroy a number of participants, facilitating Ruby's eliminations of Kairi Sane, Candice LeRae, and Alicia Fox.

The trio have found their niche as Raw's resident mischief makers: now, it's time to push them higher.

Last year's run as tie-snipping, drink-spilling pranksters was lame, and brought no tangible improvement to their in-ring fortunes. The Riott Squad would benefit from taking this chaos to the squared circle, using strength in numbers to neutralise more credible opponents, with the talented, underutilised Ruby breaking out as a singles star in the process. It's a solid heel act, and the Royal Rumble proves it can succeed in a big-match setting. Let's see if WWE follow up on it.
