10 Wrestlers Who Deserve A Big Push After WWE Royal Rumble 2020

A stellar pay-per-view, but how many stars were born in Houston?

Now that was an awesome pay-per-view.

Royal Rumble 2020 kicked all kinds of *ss, particularly in the two titular bouts. Both were excited, well-booked marathons crammed with great character moments, storylines new and old, emergent stars, and pure, unfiltered emotion. The men's match was particularly triumphant. Brock Lesnar, the most believable wrestler on the planet, ran through 13 opponents before the ascendent Drew McIntyre Claymore'd him out of his boots and out of the ring. Edge's cathartic comeback broke the internet and took him all the way to the final three. It was as much his night as it was Drew's, though McIntyre was the one punching his WrestleMania 36 ticket in the end.

Royal Rumble 2018 was phenomenal. This one may have been even better.

Now, with the dust still settling, let's look at the wrestlers set to shine coming out of the PPV. Note that "big push" is contextual. There's only so much room at the top table and WWE can't have everyone headline at once, but the phrase doesn't necessarily mean the same for an NXT undercarder as it does a borderline Raw/SmackDown main-eventer. For simplicity's sake, let's call the "big push" a "significant elevation."

Look for these men and women to go stratospheric over the coming weeks and months...

10. Bianca Belair

'The EST of NXT' can take a well-deserved victory lap after last night, having successfully broken out on the main roster after dominating the first half of the women's Royal Rumble.

Belair was a beast in there. Coming out at number two, eight women fell by her hand, including Molly Holly, both members of Fire and Desire, and a former Tag Team Champion in Nikki Cross. She was granted plenty of shining moments and her power spots looked great. On top of this, she proved her personality and charisma can fill a massive arena like Houston's Minute Maid Park. You never know how such things will translate to bigger buildings after graduating from Full Sail University but if last night is anything to go by, Belair will be just fine on Raw or SmackDown, where a glittering career surely awaits.

Bianca will challenge for Rhea Ripley's NXT Championship at TakeOver: Portland next month. Falling there could mean landing on the red or blue brand, where she should be treated as a big deal upon arrival. Those fans know her now. They know who she is, what she's capable of, and why she's WWE most exciting ground-up developmental prospect in years. It's time to turn her loose.
