10 Wrestlers Who Desperately Need New Gimmicks
2. Bray Wyatt
The Problem: It's painful to think how badly WWE have squandered Bray Wyatt's original magic since he debuted on the main roster. Making grandiose promises then failing to deliver on those words has crippled Wyatt's importance to the point that change is needed.
WWE, not Bray himself, are to blame for that. Quite how they've managed to turn one of the most interesting characters of his generation into one fans groan at is perplexing; if anything, Wyatt should be firmly entrenched as a main event player by now, not someone in dire need of a gimmick switch.
Suggested Change: The healing process must start post-WrestleMania. By turning Wyatt babyface and fine-tuning some of his better traits (the poetical delivery of his promos is excellent, it's the fact he never follows up on them that sucks), WWE might stumble upon something special.
Look at the template set by Mankind back in the 1990s. Mick Foley turned that gimmick from scary heel to cherished outcast by using silver-tongued delivery and his childlike passion for wrestling. Bray is a stunning talker, has a unique look and a lifelong love for pro wrestling.
Use it. If it doesn't work, WWE can always go back to Sister Abigail. Ahem.
