10 Wrestlers Who Desperately Need New Gimmicks

4. Tye Dillinger

The Problem: Tye Dillinger's fairly small size isn't offset by his one-dimensional "Perfect 10" gimmick. Since he traded NXT for the main roster, it's become blatantly clear that WWE's only plan for Tye involves coincidentally being the 10th entrant to Royal Rumble matches or #10 in the SmackDown Top 10 rankings.

Compare how dull Dillinger's aura is to someone of similar stature like AJ Styles and things become even more worrying. WWE let Styles prove himself in the ring, which is where he excels. By comparison, Tye has a colourless and tacked-on number gimmick.

Suggested Change: Give Dillinger something more well-realised that doesn't show up that he's, y'know, not actually the perfect anything. Besides that initial pop and chant of the number 10 from fans, there's nothing about Tye to invest in. Even that chant is starting to die out.

WWE must strip away the reliance on one number and give fans a reason to care for longer than a minute or two when Dillinger comes out. As much as everything about Tye's act screams lower-card, who knows what he could achieve if SmackDown's creative team move away from the half-baked 10 trick.
