Oh Zack Ryder, what could have been?

In many ways, Zack Ryder should be one of the leaders of this New Era, an example of a young superstar dragging World Wrestling Entertainment into the modern age. He was among the first to take advantage of the power of social media, and although this only got him a tiny push and not much else his influence on bringing this era about can't be ignored.

As it is, Ryder has been treated in such a way over the last few years that his value to the New Era has all but been eroded. No matter how much love an audience ay have for an individual, if we are told to view someone as a loser then, strangely enough, we will view them as a loser.

Zack Ryder is in many ways the opposite of Nia Jax. He was ideal for the New Era, but he came just a few years too early.

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
