10 Wrestlers Who Found God

5. Eddie Guerrero

Even though Eddie Guerrero is the only one on here that is no longer living, his story about how he dealt with his addictions by finding God inspired a lot of people. "Religion should be about your relationship with God, not what the church says you can and can't do." That's what Eddie wrote in his autobiography "Cheating Death, Stealing Life" when he was in a better place in his life. Throughout the 1990s and early 2000s he dealt with a lot of issues. Getting fired by WWE in 2001 helped him change his life. Here's how Jim Ross (WWE's Hall of Fame announcer that was head of talent relations when Eddie was fired) described Eddie when he became born again: "When Eddie returned to WWE in 2002 he was essentially a new man. He carried his Bible with him on the road and when he was having a bad day, Eddie would absorb himself in the word of God and find peace. It was an amazing transformation. It was real." Eddie wanted people to know his story because he wanted to help others. He wrote about it, talked about it in interviews and it was even mentioned on WWE TV as well. His death in 2005 was so tragic because we knew how hard he fought to get his life back and his family back.
