10 Wrestlers Who Found Out WWE Wasn't The Promised Land

5. Diamond Dallas Page

Credit where credit is due, Diamond Dallas Page desperately wanted to be part of the WCW 'Invasion' of the WWF. Accepting a buyout on his AOL/Time Warner contract, Page lost money to be involved. That's something he must have later regretted, because his WWF run was a failure.

Stupidly cast as the stalker of The Undertaker's wife, DDP went from being a popular babyface to a confusing, creepy heel. It was an odd fit, and the character would ruin his chances right from the off. Much like others on this list, Page was handled much better during his time in WCW.

It's nice that the guy wanted to show what he could do in the WWF/WWE, but he was let down badly by the creative team. Looking like a loser next to Undertaker, he did admittedly find some limited success as a positive, grinning babyface after the 'Invasion' had ended.

That came too late for Page to really make a splash, his WWF run was a far cry from the 'People's Champion' persona he perfected in WCW.
