The Big Show was already pretty raging before Alberto Del Rio slapped him in the face then ran his leg over with a car during a May 2011 edition of Monday Night Raw. Or paid Ricardo Rodriguez to do it anyway.

This seemingly needless act of aggression by the wealthy star was all in service of making a statement on Monday Night Raw. Del Rio arrived on the show a month earlier following a difficult spell on the blue brand. After winning the first and only 40-man Royal Rumble the prior January, he lost his WrestleMania World Heavyweight Championship match against Edge, before losing a ladder match to Christian for the vacant title a month later.

Believing this would give him an advantage over his bigger foe, ADR orchestrated the unprovoked ABH attempt to set up a match with Show at Capitol Punishment just weeks later. He won by stoppage, teeing him up for a Money In The Bank victory a month after that, suggesting that the premeditated assault was the right way to go all along. Even if his next one was by accident...
