10 Wrestlers Who Got TERRIBLE Advice From WWE
Goldberg, Randy Orton, D-Generation X and others who got awful WWE advice.
Everyone has received some bad advice before.
It could be something as simple as an errant financial decision that ends up costing you money, or maybe you're the sort who'd follow 'Stone Cold's' lead by hitting your boss with a Stunner when they ask you to work weekends. Usually, such things (maybe not the Stunner) are easily fixed, but what do you do when you're a pro wrestler and the company you work for doles out that obviously-dreadful guidance?
Sadly, workers in that position don't have many choices. They could yell, "I'm not f*cking doing that" before ringing up another promotion looking for work. Or, and this is more likely, they'll grit their teeth, get on with it and try to make the best of a bad situation whilst praying that the powerbroker sees sense eventually.
WWE are no strangers to dishing out terrible advice. Vince McMahon and pals have told some of the best wrestlers on the planet to do things their way or else, and that has led to some truly awful content that helped nobody.
Here's the worst of it, and the impact their dodgy input had...
10. Big Show Must Cut The Same Promo
Behold Paul Wight's concerned features.
The big man was surely bracing himself for another round of, "I'm 7ft tall and weigh 500lbs" chatter in the pic above. After all, WWE asked Big Show to do that constantly - it was like they'd written "must reference size" into the giant's company contract.
This was troublesome for Show. Via 'Talk Is Jericho', he recently moaned about having to repeat the same things over and over any time he had a mic in his hands. Did The Undertaker have to remind everyone that he was an undead supernatural zombie force in his prime? No, so why did Wight have to self-reference the obvious?
Regurgitating the same lines proved to be a colossal pain in the t*ts for Show, but Vince McMahon wouldn't have it any other way. He even told his writing staff to get even more banter about the man's physical stature in there whenever Paul was scripted to talk.
That left Show feeling like a robot, and made it harder for him to cut natural promos.
