10 Wrestlers Who Guided Other Wrestlers To Great Performances

6. Bayley Vs. Nia Jax (NXT TakeOver: London)

In 2021, Nia Jax is one of the most maligned workers on WWE's main roster. The Irresistible Force has been responsible for a whole host of injuries, with Kairi Sane feeling her sloppy wrath on a number of occasions. Jax comes in for some of the harshest criticism from commentators who believe she should be better, especially considering that she is now almost six years into her wrestling career. For reference, Sonya Deville made her debut some seven months after Jax.

Two weeks before Deville made her debut, Nia Jax was being carried to a genuinely good match by NXT All-Star Bayley, who was at the height of her powers as NXT Women's Champion. The match was one of the highlights of NXT TakeOver: London, although few would have predicted that heading into the match. Bayley more than proved her worth on that cold December night, putting in her best Ric Flair impression as Nia played the role of Vader.

This was the moment Bayley arrived as a top-tier worked in WWE. Sure, she had better matches with Sasha Banks in the months previous, but putting on a banger with The Boss is a different animal entirely. Bayley was elite in this match, keeping the crowd behind her as Jax put a beating on her, before putting in a tremendous comeback and tapping out the monster.

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
