Eddie Guerrero makes another appearance for his interactions and missed opportunities with ‘The Great One’ The Rock. The two working together in a memorable segment and match the one time on Raw in 2002 is an example of perfect timing.

Rock had just returned from a sabbatical at the time, winning the WWE Undisputed Championship the night before at Vengeance, and Eddie had returned only a few months before, after getting clean and working his way back to WWE on the independent circuit. The set-up to their match was hilariously entertaining, where Eddie interrupted The Rock’s in-ring celebration with the fans and angrily claimed The Rock was his kid’s hero, much to his chagrin. Rock hilariously cut him off with “Woah woah woah you sick psychopathic freak!” and started making fun of his awful mullet as Eddie looked on dumbfounded. They had a priceless back-and-forth and later that night an electric match, with Rock picking up the win with The People’s Elbow.

The Rock in 2019 alluded to their chemistry on Instagram, sharing a clip of the match with the message: ‘Check out Eddie’s nasty Rock Bottom counter - he was a bad dude! Found this throwback gem of my World Title match with one of the GOATS - Eddie Guerrero. Insanely talented wrestler. I loved wrestling him and always admired his relentless in ring style and intensity. Most importantly, he was a good man and taken from us way too early. Miss you and “thanks for the house” brother.’

If only WWE did more with them.
