6. Alex Riley (Money In The Bank 2011)

For the most brief of periods, Alex Riley looked like he had a chance to become a solid addition to the WWE mid-card scene, but it wasn't to last. Splitting from his tag-a-long heel gimmick of being The Miz's lackey, Riley turned babyface in mid-2011 and did admittedly garner some nice responses from live crowds, who seemed to enjoy cheering him as he went up against his former mentor. Regardless, it was a flash in the pan, and 'A-Ry' was little more than a gap filler for the Money In The Bank match to determine who could have a crack at the WWE Title during the 2011 Money In The Bank event. In fairness, the field of participants wasn't the most illustrious (R-Truth, for example), but Riley represents the lack of real star power floating around the main roster in the Summer of 2011. Eventually, it'd be Alberto Del Rio who would leave with the briefcase, later cashing in at Summerslam, but only really Rey Mysterio seemed to be the other realistic alternative to depart victorious.
