10 Wrestlers Who Hated The Fans
Hate is a strong word. That doesn't stop this lot using it, however.
If a wrestling audience doesn't approve of a certain star in the ring or feels aggrieved by a particular situation/piece of booking on that given night you can bet your sweet *ss they're going to let you know about it.
Likewise, if some wrestlers aren't exactly happy with a crowd's reaction - be it live or via social media - they too have often been less than shy about letting their voices be heard.
In the old days, you'd only really hear about these instances of larger than life wrestling stars hitting back at pedantic members of the fandom through rumours spread around your school or from a friend-of-a-friend who met Scott Steiner in a bar one time.
Now though, with the internet readily available at the touch of a button, we are instantly treated to every drop of venom spat at the wrestling community by p*ssed off workers whenever they feel like pushing back at an often pernickety set of followers.
Not every wrestler's grievances against the paying public are justified, but we're not here to play judge.
Instead let's just enjoy talking about how much these wrestlers hate our guts!
10. Seth Rollins
Former Universal Champion Seth Rollins had quite an odd 2019.
He started the year as the crowd-endorsed top star in the company and even conquered Universal Champion Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania 35. Then things started to go t*ts up for 'The Architect'.
A couple of lacklustre feuds with Baron Corbin and Braun Strowman didn't do much to endear him to the fans, but his battle with the uber-popular 'Fiend' Bray Wyatt inside Hell in a Cell at the titular PPV was the final straw for an audience which once cheered him to the top of the mountain.
P*ssed off by the decision to call the match off after Wyatt had been pummelled by a sledgehammer, the fans inside the Golden 1 Center in Sacramento took aim at the Champion. One viral clip even surfaced showing a fan holding up a 'Seth Rollins Is Not Cool' sign and staring down Rollins post-match, with the star clearly not happy with the reaction he was receiving.
Rollins followed up this moment a few weeks later in a backstage Monday Night Raw interview by stating, 'I just feel like I’m out here every single week, busting my back, breaking my back, putting the whole company on my back sometimes and I don’t get the respect I deserve because there’s this new flavour of ice cream.'
His reaction was obviously dialled up as a way of selling the ongoing programme, but you can see from Rollins' delivery that there was some truth behind his frustration at how he was being treated by the WWE Universe.
He would later turn heel and lean into the negative responses he was generating, however it was clear that the former Universal Champion didn't appreciate the fans' response towards him in the latter stages of his babyface reign.
