10 Wrestlers Who Have Made Kurt Angle Submit

9. Chris Jericho - Monday Night Raw (May 8th, 2000)

The Ayatollah of Rock N Rolla had already became a pain in Kurt Angle's side before this special confrontation on Monday Night Raw. Angle had lost his European title to Jericho at Wrestlemania 2000 in a two-fall triple threat match for both Intercontinental and European championships, with Angle losing his IC belt to Chris Benoit.

On this edition of Raw, this was Chris Jericho's first match of the evening for defending his now Intercontinental title (losing his European title to Eddie Guerrero the day after Wrestlemania, and gaining the IC title from Benoit mere days before this match on Smackdown). There was a lot more pain and suffering for Jericho to endure as he had two more matches that same night, one against the Big Show, and then another match with Benoit for the title. Kurt Angle though was starting his storyline with Stephanie McMahon at this point, pledging his allegiance to her and the McMahon-Helmsley regime. However that wasn't enough for Angle, as after a mere five minutes he taps out to the Walls of Jericho.

This wouldn't be Angle's last tap out to Jericho either, he would regularly tap out to Y2J at house shows over the coming months, but this was one of the few times it was seen on television. Both Jericho and Angle had natural chemistry, and at this point in their careers still had a lot to prove. Thankfully they both got the opportunities they needed to succeed.
