10 Wrestlers Who Have Never Been Better Than Right Now
7. Lio Rush
The past few years have been quite the rollercoaster for Lio Rush.
There was his internet (and Jim Cornette) breaking no-sell of a powerbomb off a ladder through a table on his final night in CZW before joining NXT, followed by his ill-advised tweet regarding the departure of Emma from WWE.
Rush then transitioned onto 205 Live, where he would go on an impressive winning streak before suffering his first pinfall loss to Cedric Alexander. His excellent skill as both a performer and a talker was soon rewarded with a call-up to the main roster to serve as hype man/manager of Bobby Lashley.
The duo had excellent chemistry and Lashley even became Intercontinental Champion with Rush by his side. However, after dropping the title to Finn Balor at WrestleMania 35, the pair split and Rush disappeared from WWE amidst reports of backstage heat.
Lio Rush made a triumphant return to the company last month; winning a #1 contenders match on NXT against Oney Lorcan and subsequently defeating Drew Gulak to be crowned the new NXT Cruiserweight Champion.
It has been quite the rollercoaster for Rush over the past few years, but the 24-year-old finally appears to be on the up and up.
