10 Wrestlers Who Have SERIOUSLY Regressed In The Ring
1. AJ Styles
AJ Styles came so close to being Vince's "one that got away". This decorated TNA alumnus was the biggest thing outside of the company before his debut, and after he finally stepped foot into WWE, he ultimately proved why.
Styles had one of the best rookie years in WWE history and was consistently putting on future classics with the likes of John Cena, Chris Jericho and The Undertaker. But his incredible speed, precision and show-stealing qualities are no longer present in his matches.
AJ still has the potential to steal the show, as was made clear with his SmackDown TV match with Daniel Bryan, which rocked the house down. Still, he's gone from being in the top three best matches of every single PPV to a dependable performer who is consistent, but no longer the highlight.
Many people forget that Styles is 44 years old, the same age as John Cena. It's easy to overlook this as he felt like such an underground hit for so long that he felt inherently youthful. But it seems that his age has been holding him back, and while he's still putting on good matches, he's not as phenomenal as he used to be.
