10 Wrestlers Who Have SERIOUSLY Regressed In The Ring
2. Asuka
Asuka's latest year in WWE has been blistered with poor booking and a lack of spotlight, even though she was the Raw Women's Champion. However, bad choices from creative haven't been the only thing bringing the formerly undefeated star down, as her matches have also regressed from what fans became used to with her.
It's hard to think of a performer who has had a better time in NXT than Asuka, as she absolutely dominated the brand's women's division. She did so with vicious matches that were uncomfortable to watch, thanks to her harsh strikes and painful submission holds. This turned her into a star, and that star did remain when she transitioned to the main roster; it just didn't shine as bright.
In her last year, the spectacle of Asuka's matches have declined, as she doesn't feel as dangerous anymore. This has led to a variety of disappointing matches, with her potentially show-stealing WrestleMania battle against Rhea Ripley in particular falling way short of expectations.
She'll hopefully be able to pick herself up sometime soon, but as of right now, it seems not even Asuka is "Ready for Asuka".
