10 Wrestlers Who Have SERIOUSLY Regressed In The Ring
9. Shinsuke Nakamura
If Corbin's fall from grace could be compared to tumbling down Mount Snowden, then his current rival Nakamura's is like losing your footing on Mount Everest.
The King of Strong Style cultivated his nickname, persona and incredible in-ring prestige in the world of NJPW. While in that promotion, he became a company ace, and a lot of that success came from his incredible in-ring work. Nakamura's ring style combined brutal strikes with an explosive move-set and was tied into a neat package thanks to his overt showmanship. So, when he joined WWE NXT in 2016, the thought of what he'd do was mouth-watering.
Thankfully for fans, it didn't just start great, but incredibly, as his debut bout against Sami Zayn at NXT TakeOver: Dallas is still considered one of the most iconic matches in the company's history. Oh, how the mighty have fallen.
This star still brought all his quirky character work and charisma with him, but it became clear quite soon that WWE weren't getting Nakamura at his best. As a result, his matches took a steady decline, with his disappointing WrestleMania 34 showdown with AJ Styles becoming the norm for him.
Nowadays, his matches are serviceable, but their slow pacing and lack of individuality aren't what you'd expect from this icon of the business.
