10 Wrestlers Who Have Suddenly Disappeared

3. Anthony Ogogo

One of the strangest signings All Elite Wrestling made looked, for a while, to be one of it's shrewdest.

After winning a bronze medal for boxing in the 2012 Olympic Games held in his native Britain, the Lowestoft-born fighter looked set for a big boxing career. A professional run saw him win 11 of his 12 bouts, but a series of eye injuries soon brought Ogogo career between those ropes to an end.

AEW offered him a different set of ropes and many people raised their eyebrows. For those few short months in 2021, it looked like a slam dunk.

For a brief time, as Cody Rhodes feuded with The Factory, Anthony Ogogo felt like a star in the making. 'The Guvnor' soon became the most dangerous man on the roster, and his gut punch was a believable finisher that could end a match out of nowhere. He also possesses such unteachable charisma, that it seemed like the world was at his feet.

Out of nowhere, Cody was going to Cody, and he turned their decent feud into a MURICA feud, presenting the Olympian as a foreign heel invading the USA, followed by Rhodes defeating Ogogo in an underwhelming match at Double or Nothing 2021. There was no follow up, and although his eye injuries haven't helped, the Brit's so far from Tony Khan's orbit right now, he may as well be in another universe.

The last time he was given anything by AEW, was a 43 second match on YouTube last summer.
