Incredibly, it's now been nearly seven years since The Miz last wore the WWE Championship. His one and only world title reign to date remains the high point of his career, and that has to rankle a little given how important a member of the roster he has become recently.

Mostly, however, this owes to factors outside his control. In terms of promos and matches, he's arguably putting on the best work of his career - it's just that there's a whole host of wrestlers who stand between him and a shot at the main event.

The extent to which Miz can personally affect this state of affairs is perhaps limited. He can try and get on the right side of his higher-ups backstage. Maybe have a word in the ear of Vince McMahon.

But it's hard to see how he can improve what is already a brilliant act. Regardless, that's all that's missing from The Awesome One's decade-long WWE career: another run at the top of the card (not that headlining WrestleMania once is anything to scoff at, of course).
