10 Wrestlers Who Literally Destroyed The Ring

1. Big Show

No wrestler has ever shown more disrespect for a wrestling ring’s structural integrity than ‘The World’s Largest Athlete.’ Though technically the victim in the collapse spots, it was his decision to climb the turnbuckles that led to them in the first place, and for that reason, he is at least partly culpable in each incident.

Aside from the collapses, the 7’ giant has caused destruction on a number of other occasions. 1999 saw him become the first man to send The Undertaker through the ring, when, on an episode of Raw, Show caught ‘The Deadman’ leaping from the top rope and Chokeslammed him through the canvas.

Big Show had debuted for WWE just five months prior, making a startling arrival as he tore through the ring and emerged from underneath as Steve Austin wrestled Vince McMahon at St. Valentine’s Day Massacre. A memorable introduction, but Show’s destructive spree runs even deeper into the past: in January 1998, he literally pulled a WCW Thunder ring apart with Scott Hall still inside it.

With retirement on the horizon, we’ve likely seen the last of Big Show breaking rings, which will no doubt be a huge relief to set builders around the world.
