10 Wrestlers Who Looked Better Over 40 Than In Their Prime

8. Masaaki Mochizuki

48 years old he may be, but Masaaki Mochizuki definitely goes harder than your favourite wrestler.

One of the stiffest strikers in the sport, 'Mocchy' stands out among Dragon Gate's roster of flippydoos, as when he's not trying to kick his opponent's head off their shoulders, he's going after a limb. His approach is far closer to the original Strong Style blueprint than any modern New Japan wrestler, and he's currently in the midst of the best run of his career.

Mochizuki won DG's top title (the Open The Dream Gate belt) last September, and has since defended it in a number of high quality matches. 2015's awesome showdown with Shingo Takagi remains his apex, but he's one of the best wrestlers in the world on his day, particularly when the 'grumpy old man' side of his character kicks in. If you like stiff, hard-hitting wrestling, seeking him out is a must.

There are older wrestlers on our list, but none laughed in the face of Father Time like Mochizuki. The man performs like someone half his age, always busting a gut to deliver the best possible match, and never phoning it in.
